Like so many things in life, when something big happens you have to drop everything to be apart of that big thing. And then some of the things you dropped will forever remain dropped until one day you look down or backwards and think, wow I forgot about this. That is what happened to me with this blog. I thought the last time I had posted was around a month or two ago, but it turns out it has been exactly one year. Last year at this time, I was putting on my dress and going inside of Mandel Hall getting ready for graduation. It was hot and gross inside, but on the outside it was a beautiful day. Flowers were blooming, and everything seemed perfect. Today, I just took a two hour math final inside of a room with all the lights off. There is a dark light shining through the windows, and it is raining outside. The sky is gray. It is cold; cold enough that I wore a hoodie and a coat to the final. This does not feel like summer. This does not feel like after eleven o’clock tomorrow, I will be done for three months and can sit outside in the hottest weather here, about 110 degrees. It is half that amount right now. I think I might need gloves. In New York, it is 79 and sunny. Here it is a dark hole of floods, wet, dark and cold. It’s also pretty lonely. I had a dream that it was snowing. Apparently, the ice caps have reached the point of no return, but you wouldn’t think that here because it’s that cold. I want to be in front of a fireplace. I have never read or seen Game of Thrones, but this is a quote that I think is fitting:
“Nothing burns like the cold.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
I know that nobody reads this, and I bet nobody ever will. If you have read this, than I apologize for leaving you hanging, but that is a pretty big doubt in my mind. There are billions of people in this world that have big thoughts like this, and if everyone were to write them down the world would be so much more interesting. I am going to find a blanket, to hopefully and finally get warm.
