OY VEY

Did you know that on April 6th 1917, the United States of America entered World War I? And did you know that on June 28th, 1914, Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sofia, were shot?

I know that probably most people know this. Learning about WWI is tiring. Honestly, it's really interesting, but there isn't enough time to learn about it, plus we have only spent a week or a week and a half learning.

Boy has this week been a long one, and I am only halfway through! Test or quiz EVERY DAY.
Here is something I bet you didn't know: the second entry on urban dictionary for OY VEY is as follows:

oy vey
2.oy vey  503 up327 down
Jewish exasperated exclamation
I have tons of homework tonight! Oy vey!
Don't ask me if that is a coincidence but that is exactly what I am thinking right now!

Superpowers at his Command

I wish I had superpowers. I mean who doesn't? But the superpowers I wish for are the ones that you could use to make the world better. I wish I had the superpower of multiple identities, so that I could be a writer, actress and a photojournalist. I wish I had the superpower to get people to apply good ideas that will help other people and animals and beings. I wish I had the superpower to give all the food in the world to the hungry, and give water to those who are thirsty, and give a home for those who are homeless. Think of what you could do with any superpower at your command.

Stay

I would just like to say that I think I have another favorite song!!!!! For those of you who don't know, I have a lot of favorite songs. But this one is high up there! Stay by Rihanna is one of THE BEST SONGS EVER. I feel like I can sort of relate to it. Not in terms of the romance where Chris Brown punches Rihanna in the face and yet she is still in love with him. Definitely NOT. But in other ways. Maybe I will sing it for graduation.

All along it was a fever
A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air and said, "Show me something,"
He said, "If you dare come a little closer."

Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay

It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take – it's given

Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay.

Oh the reason I hold on
Oh cause I need this hole gone
Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving
Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay, stay.
I want you to stay, oh.

Bienvenidos a Marzo

Hey!!!! So it is March. FINALLY! My favorite month. Of the whole year. EEEEEEEK! To completely spin the blog around and go in a full circle, I am really happy! Sorry about the exclamation points, but I feel like exclaiming, so it's okay. Well, in Belize it is about 75 degrees, while in Chicago it is 29 and snowy and in Boston last week there was a blizzard. So yeah, crazy. But that's why I love March. It's like a curse has been lifted. No more stress.

Book of the month: Wicked. This is my book to conquer for March. You should read it too. It asks, "Are people born wicked? Or is wickedness thrust upon them?" Post what you think. I will share my thoughts in the next time.

“Remember this: Nothing is written in the stars. Not these stars, nor any others. No one controls your destiny. Even at the very worst - there is always choice.”

“Where I'm from, we believe in all sorts of things that aren't true... we call it history.”

“People who claim that they're evil are usually no worse than the rest of us... It's people who claim that they're good, or any way better than the rest of us, that you have to be wary of.”

The Last Day of the Month

Hi. I am not writing to anybody anymore, because I know that nobody reads this. Except for me. So if you do happen to come across this, read it. Because I am just like everybody else. I found this quote about moving on. I am in a depressed mood, so I am posting this.

“Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.” -  The Perks of Being a Wallflower

It's Time. Not to quote the theme song for Perks, but seriously guys it's time. Get a fresh slate. Please do. I am getting a fresh slate too. On the first last day of the month of february in 2013. There won't be another one.

Here is another Perks quote. But this one, this is good. It makes a real statement.

“I would die for you. But I won't live for you.”

CAPS LOCK

Hey! You want to know something scary? There are 6 of you out there and I know that 5 out of 6 have been using Firefox to look up this blog. I also know that you all have Macs. I know its not interesting, but I just wanted to put that out there. I don't know who is reading this, if you are, COMMENT so that I will know that they are not just fake people. Anyways, how are you? I notice I talk a lot about myself on this blog because I am writing out my feelings and all that jazz. But I never ask how you are. Maybe it's because there's nobody to answer. Not that you're nobody, you are all just to shy to let me know. Hey, I do know one more thing. Who here is looking at this who is from Alaska? Because I also know that at least one of you lives in Alaska. I am not being creepy, don't worry. I am just looking at my stats for my blog. STATS OF WEBPAGES ARE SO FUN TO LOOK AT! Okay now I am going to stop asking about you because there is a high probability you aren't going to answer. However, I still think that all of you are awesome people!

I am performing on Saturday, and I am really nervous. Actually that's a lie. I am not nervous whatsoever. I am just scared that I'll forget my lines. Don't worry, I've done it many a time before. I have all A's except by less than 1% off in a nameless class. Which is really good news! Ok so another thing. HOW THE HECK DID IT BECOME FEBRUARY? Yes I know that it is January 30th, less than 36 hours from now it will be February and then spring. YES.

They speak for themselves

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
― Apple Inc.

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
― Albert Einstein

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
― Oscar Wilde

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
― Dr. Seuss

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
― Mae West

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt

“Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.”
― Oscar Wilde

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” - Gandhi
